Lost in Translation

We’ve been reading stories to Iva from her Read With Me Bible for the past week or so.

On Saturday night, we read about Naaman – the soldier with leprosy who was healed by washing in the Jordan River seven times.

Today at lunch, Ivalee was asking, “What’s the man’s name with the itchy skin?” I figured out she was talking about Naaman and then we started telling Laurel the story about Naaman. She needed a few cues from me, but she remembered quite a bit.

At the end she said, “he washed in the water and … what happened, Mommy? … (God healed him!) … Yeh! God KILLED him!”

One little word changes everything.
